Iranian President to Appoint Caretaker for Interior Ministry Soon

“The president will decide on a substitute for Mr. Kordan to run the Interior Ministry soon,” Presidential Advisor Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi told FNA.

“At first, the president will name a caretaker for the Interior Ministry, not a new minister,” he added.

The Iranian parliament on Tuesday voted to sack Interior Minister Ali Kordan for presenting a fake Phd degree from a prestigious British university during his qualification process.

According to the Iranian Constitution, the president has a 3-month deadline to introduce a new minister to the parliament for a vote of confidence.
