Tehran Doubts Western Claims on Iran-US Relations

a03105118TEHRAN (FNA)- Tehran doubts some western countries’ claims about improvement of Iran-US relations, Rapporteur of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Kazem Jalali said.

“Some western countries are unsatisfied with the settlement of problems in Iran- US ties and some of them try to complicate the issue,” Jalali told FNA Saturday.

He further noted west’s biased propaganda against the Islamic Republic, and said that they announce their readiness for talks, and meantime, pretend that Iran has retreated.

The United States and Iran broke diplomatic relations in April 1980, after Iranian students seized the United States’ espionage center at its embassy in Tehran. The two countries have had tense relations ever since. Washington has ratified a congressional budget and conducted efforts for a regime change in Tehran, but to no avail.

Elsewhere, the Iranian parliamentarian noted the issue of Gaza, and said that Iran’s presence in the 45th Munich Security Conference and recalling Israel’s crimes can serve as effective ways to keep the Gaza issue alive.

The Iranian Parliament Speaker, Ali Larijani, is in Germany now to take part in the Munich Security Conference.

The message of the oppressed Palestinian people should be stated through international ploys in a bid to explore proper ways to deter the Israeli regime from repeating similar crimes in future.
