Iran Calls for Restoration of Calm in Thailand

A02237762.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Tehran on Wednesday called for the immediate restoration of calm and order in Thailand, while it stressed its respect for the national sovereignty of that country.

According to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hoseini expressed Iran’s respect for Thailand’s national sovereignty and further called for the immediate restoration of calm and order within the Constitution of that country.

“Iran is hopeful that the issues and developments in Thailand would soon be settled down through reconciliation and self-restraint,” he said.

Hoseini also described as satisfactory the status of the Iranian citizens residing in Thailand, and pointed out that there need not be any worries or concerns about their living conditions as the current developments have not had any effects on them.
