NATO defense ministers to meet in Turkey today

The informal meeting of NATO defense ministers will begin in Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday.

The informal meeting will focus exclusively on Afghanistan and Kosovo defense systems’ transformation.

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen announced that they lack another 20 training teams to train Afghan army.

He said that they lack around 100 training teams to train Afghan forces.

He noted that the training is an important investment in the transformation and added that he will lobby for more training teams.

The informal meeting will also discuss the adopted plans on Afghanistan conference, which took place in London.
