Romania gives final approval for U.S. Missile Shield

Romania has given final approval for the building of an anti-ballistic interceptor site in the country as part of a U.S. missile shield.

In September, Romania and the U.S. signed an accord to install the interceptors at the Deveselu air base near Romania’s border with Bulgaria. Romania’s Parliament approved a law earlier this month and Romanian President Traian Basescu signed it Thursday.

Mr. Traian Basescu says the work can now begin at the base.
