EU wants Kosovo to attend Ohrid meeting

EU Delegation head Vincent Degert says the South-East European Cooperation Process is not covered in the Brussels agreement between Belgrade and Pristina.

However, the EU “would like to see Kosovo take part in the gathering.”

Kosovo has not been invited to the SEECP Summit in Ohrid in Macedonia, because Serbia and two more member countries filed a remark based on the SEECP Statute which envisages that the Summit can be attended only by sovereign and recognized countries and Kosovo is not one of them.

Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga asserted that this was contrary to the Brussels agreement reached on April 19.

When asked whether this was the case, Degert said that “strictly speaking” the agreement does not cover SEECP.
