The clashes between the Egyptian security forces and supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi this weekend killed 80 people.

The latest number of casualties was published by Health Ministry official in charge of emergency situations Khaled al-Khatib. At the same time, an official of Cairo’s main morgue said that 83 people were killed.

This official declined to be identified because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

Fierce clashes erupted on Saturday morning when Morsi supporters started to expand their camp.
