French President Francois Hollande reiterated support on Wednesday to Malian authorities in their counter-terrorism operation after another assault hit the West African country earlier this month.

At a defense meeting held at the Elysee Palace, Hollande vowed “to take the necessary measures” to help Malian officials find those who had helped the five suicide bombers attack a military camp in the northern city of Gao, which killed at least 50 on Jan. 18.

“France remained fully committed … to the implementation of Mali peace and reconciliation accord and to the fight against the terrorist armed groups,” the French head of state said in a statement released by his office.

As for security at home, Hollande discussed with the country’s military chiefs and ministers the measures implemented to guarantee people’s safety on public transport and improve security at airports and railway stations, the communique added.
