After holding separate meetings with negotiators Zoran Jolevski and Adamantios Vasilakis, UN mediator in Macedonian-Greek name dispute Matthew Nimetz met with UN Secretary General Ban-Ki-Moon.

The Moldovan delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has called upon the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg to delegate a mission to Moldova’s Transnistrian region so as to help the Moldovan authorities release journalist Ernest Vardanyan from custody in Tiraspol.

The foreign ministers of Turkey, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina met on Wednesday in Ankara, Turkey, on Wednesday. Ahmet Davutoglu, Gordan Jandroković and Sven Alkalaj agreed that the relations between these three countries are of strategic importance for the improvement of the general situation in southeastern Europe.
