Two U.S. soldiers were killed and four wounded when they were hit by a roadside bomb in Diyala province northeast of Baghdad on Tuesday, the U.S. military reported.Another U.S. soldier was shot and killed near Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad.

Afghan and U.S.-led coalition forces killed dozens of Taliban fighters in the south of the country after an ambush by a large group of insurgents, the U.S. military said on Wednesday.
