Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to a ceasefire in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh territory – starting at midday Saturday, local time. The breakthrough came after Russia stepped in to mediate between the two former Soviet Union countries that embarked on heavy clashes two weeks ago.

Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, said that the US had submitted a proposal to Turkey regarding northern Syria and has been working to persuade Ankara to accept it.

The Lebanese authorities seized an oil ship coming from Greece, which was meant to deliver oil to a company linked to the Assad regime, in implementation of the Caesar Act.
