Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree banning members of the armed forces from carrying smartphones, tablets, and other gadgets capable of recording and storing information while on duty.

The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Egypt to refurbish forty-three (43) AH-64E Apache attack helicopters for an estimated cost of $2.3 billion. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The secretive Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which develops high-tech weaponry for the US military, is attempting to create a purpose-built unmanned warship. Observers have noted it bears a curious resemblance to the wedge-shaped Imperial Star Destroyers from the “Star Wars” franchise.
