Russia sends troops to South Ossetia: agencies

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russian armor rolled into the South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali on Friday, RIA news agency quoted a source in the regional Russian military headquarters as saying.

In a separate report, Interfax news agency quoted the Russian defence ministry as saying reinforcements for Russian peacekeepers have been sent to South Ossetia. “They will help (peacekeepers) to end bloodshed,” Interfax quoted the ministry press office as saying.
