Washington: Kurds protest for recognition of genocide

On 21 August 2006, Klawrojna is taking charge of a massive and collective protest to be held in front of the Federal Iraqi Embassy in the heart of Washington D.C.

We shall be joined by a large number of Kurdish nationals residing in numerous cities and states. The aim of this well-coordinated protest is to cast light upon the enormity and exact nature of these heinously cryptic crimes and draw the attention of the world media. Some translated print materials and pamphlets will be distributed to the spectators, as well.

Our demands will be as follows:

An official and ceremonial recognition of all genocides, mass executions and ethnic cleansings perpetrated versus the subdued Kurdish nation, includin the genocidal campaign of Anfal, chemical shelling of Halabja city and disappearance of 8000 members belonging to Barzani clan.

– A formal request for forgiveness to be screened on Iraqi National Television
– Assurances that such genocides will not be reiterated
– To prosecute the culprits in cities in which the actual genocides took place
– Pay compensation to the families of victims
