A0096314.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said his ground troops form a defensive force, but meantime warned that in case any foreign threats are posed to Iran, IRGC adopts an aggressive strategy and hits enemy targets in strategic depth.

Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi viewed regional and world conditions as unstable, and added that combat preparedness of IRGC troops and mobilized forces (Basij) is a deterrent factor to trans-regional enemies.

Noting the conditions Iraq’s occupiers are staying in, he stressed that American, British and Israeli troops have faced great defeats in Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon, and warned the said three against any further aggressions against any other country.

He also described the southwestern province of Khuzestan as the most strategic region of the country, saying, “Considering that Khuzestan is a border province located at our sensitive borders with Iraq where British and American occupying troops aim at devising cultural and security plots for Khuzestani people through their intelligence organizations and bodies, IRGC and Basij troops should maintain their preparedness at highest levels possible in order to confront and defuse any such measures by the enemies.”
