Rafsanjani Calls for Maximal Public Participation in Elections

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iran’s Expediency Council Chairman Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, noting the significance of the upcoming elections for the Experts Assembly and City and Village Councils, called for the adoption of proper measures and policies for increasing public participation in the elections.

Noting the existing conditions inside and outside the country, Rafsanjani said Iran can pass through the present crises and difficult times through national solidarity and unity.

He further referred to the significance of the cultural issues, and said that the young generation has important questions about domestic and international issues, which should all receive logical responses.

Also pointing to the country’s nuclear issue, the cleric warned about the enemies’ plots for sowing seeds of discord among the Iranian nation, and called for enhanced solidarity and national unity.
