TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed on Wednesday that his country is just one step away from becoming an established nuclear state, assuring that United States’ opposition may not deter Iran’s progress.
Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the local residents in the western town of Kangavar during the second leg of his 23rd provincial tour of the different parts of the country, the president said that the west’s opposition may not prevent the Iranian nation from making progress, and added, “Rather it will make our nation furiously wrathful at such aggressive states.”
“Therefore, you’d better give up your present approach and try the course of friendship with Iran,” he continued.
Ahmadinejad further restated his previous remarks about stabilization of nuclear technology in Iran within the next few months, and underlined, “We hope to take the final step in stabilizing Iran’s nuclear rights and celebrate it nationally within the current year.”
According to Iran’s solar calendar, the year turns on March 20th.
He also reminded that west’s opposition to Iran’s acquisition of the peaceful civilian nuclear technology is not a result of its concern about a possible proliferation of nuclear arms, and said, “Rather, they are worried about the progress of the Iranian nation in science and technology.”
