Romanian Ambassador Meets Iranian FM

A02614393.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Romania’s incoming Ambassador to Tehran Christian Teodorescu met with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and submitted to him his credentials here on Tuesday.

A statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau said that during the meeting, Mottaki voiced pleasure in Christian Teodorescu’s returning to Tehran, and said that his full command of the Persian language and familiarity with the Iranian culture and history pave the ground for the development and deepening of the two countries’ mutual ties.

He further viewed Romania as an important country in the Balkans with rich potentials for developing relations with Iran.

The Iranian top diplomat stressed the need for the activation of the two countries’ parliamentary friendship group, and voiced Tehran’s preparedness to further expand and develop ties with Bucharest.

For his part, Romania’s incoming ambassador to Tehran Christian Teodorescu conveyed his minister’s warm greetings to Mottaki and voiced pleasure in returning to Iran.

Describing the two countries’ ties as historical, the diplomat further reiterated the urgency for the expansion of ties, and called for the utilization of the high potentials on both sides in a bid to deepen the existing economic, cultural and parliamentary cooperation.

Teodorescu has already served as Romania’s ambassador to Tehran and has a good command of the Persian language.
