Ljiljana Karadzic, wife of UN war crimes tribunal indictee Radovan Karadzic, has been interrogated by Republika Srpska (RS) authorities, an official of the entity interior ministry said Thursday (July 26th). The questioning was routine and did not yield new information, said the official, Gojko Vasic. He also said the ministry has evidence suggesting that another tribunal indictee, Bosnian Serb Police Commander Stojan Zupljanin, lived in Serbia and in Russia until the end of 2006.
In other news, BiH Chief Prosecutor Marinko Jurcevic said Thursday that he would wrap up the investigation against the 35 RS policemen that were suspended earlier this month by High Representative Miroslav Lajcak on suspicion that they took part in the Srebrenica massacre. Jurcevic said the case, which will be finalised by the end of the year, has become a priority task for the prosecution.
