5 IRGC Troops Killed in Chopper Crash in Northwestern Iran

A009056823.jpgFive members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed during a crash of an army helicopter in the region of Kouh-Ghandil in the vicinity of the city of Piranshahr in northwestern Iran. According to IRGC regional headquarters in northwestern Iran, the troops were on a mission to Piranshahr border region when their helicopter crashed due to bad weather conditions.

The report said that five of the IRGC and Basiji (mobilized) troops have been killed in the incident while 6 more have been wounded.

The chopper 214 of the Islamic Republic army was carrying troops to the said region and it crashed because of improper weather conditions at the time of landing, the report added.
