Iranian defense industries succeeded in building a Radar-evading drone with the speed of 700 km per hour, a senior Iranian army official said Saturday. Deputy commander of the General Staff of Armed Forces for logistics and research, Mohammad Reza Naghdi told a press conference here today that that the high-speed drone jet ‘Shahed’ can be used for different purposes, specially for reconnaissance operations.
Former commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi earlier said that the pilotless jet would be utilized for reconnaissance operations and for gathering information and dispatching images.
Safavi also said that the form and building material of the drone provide it with an opportunity to evade Radar waves and enemy fire, adding that the large-scale production of the plane had started and that it could now be used even for operations.
