Commander of the Iranian army’s naval force here Saturday warned that his troops will target the worldwide interests of any country which dares to invade Iran. Speaking at an annual military parade to commemorate the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war on Iran, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said all the country’s southern and northern waters are under the control of his troops and that any kind of movement in the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and northern Indian Ocean is closely monitored by the Iranian navy.
He further pointed to enemies’ threats against Iran, and stressed, “We will target the interests of any country which intends to take action against Iran no matter where their interests are located, and we believe in our victory.”
Meantime, the Admiral underlined that Iran’s defensive capabilities and power serve durable peace and security in the Persian Gulf and the Straight of Hormoz, and said, “We are eager to maintain security of the region through cooperation and solidarity with the regional countries.”
He also noted manufacture of destroyer ‘Jamaran’ and missile-launcher corvette ‘Peykan’ as among the achievements of the Iranian navy, and underlined that production of such military tools and equipment set a part of Iran’s defensive doctrine which is based on deterrence.
Yet, the navy commander also warned that Iran is always capable of responding to enemy’s unwise measures.
