Mideast Peace Conference an Effort to Hide Failures of US Neocons

A009056840.jpgThe Middle-East peace conference has been designed to help Israel get rid of its present political isolation, Iran’s ambassador to Thailand Mohsen Pak Ayeen said, adding that the US neoconservatives are striving to hide their political failures by making such a move.Addressing the opening ceremony of a meeting themed ‘Qods and Islamic Solidarity’ in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, the envoy further praised Imam Khomeini’s initiative for presenting the idea of the International Qods Day, and said that Imam Khomeini’s move ruled out compromise on Palestinians’ rights and fate of Qods.

“This year too Muslims and liberal-minded and freedom-seeking people of the world displayed the sensitivity of the world of Islam towards Zionism through their rallies and demonstrations and they vetoed possible approvals and agreements of the Middle-East peace conference in advance,” he added.

Pak Ayeen further viewed reinvigoration of Islamic solidarity and unity as the main message of Muslims’ rallies on the International Qods Day, and called on all Islamic countries, particularly the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to make harmonious efforts to help resolve the existing differences among Palestinian groups.

Around 28 years ago the Late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, declared the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan to be “the International Qods Day”, a day to call for the liberation of Qods (Jerusalem) from Israeli occupation.

Jerusalem, or Qods in Arabic, had been the first Kiblah of Muslims before Mecca in Saudi Arabia, and thus, it is the holiest place for Muslims after Mecca.
