Senegal’s President Abdoulaye Wade has called on Iranian companies to maintain a higher profile in free trade zone (FTZ) of his country.Receiving the Iranian ambassador to Dakar, Wade expressed his satisfaction over the friendly ties between the two countries.
Wade said his country is willing to share Iran’s experiences and called on the Islamic Republic to contribute to the Senegalese production and exports.
Referring to the need felt in the Senegalese and other West African markets for agricultural machineries, he said Dakar welcomes a bid by the Iranian experts to launch tractor and truck assembly lines in his country.
For his part, Iran’s ambassador to Senegal, Jahanbakhsh Hassanzadeh, said that the two countries should work together to extend their cooperation.
“Iran is fully ready to extend its economic activities in various fields with Senegal,” Hassanzadeh concluded.
The two countries have a good and long-standing history of economic partnership
