Iran announced that it is seeking to bolster cooperation with the republic of Azerbaijan in cultural and cinematic grounds. Iranian deputy Guidance and Islamic Culture Minister for cinematic affairs Jafari Jelveh in a meeting with the director of the Azeri Culture and Tourism ministry’s Film department here in Tehran noted the cooperation agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) already signed by the two countries, and expressed hope that the two sides would take more extensive and serious measures to expand joint cooperation.
He also pointed to cinematic interactions and cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan, and said that there resides ample intact grounds for the two sides to boost cooperation.
The official further described cinema as the best language for portraying the two nations’ cultural commonalities and future goals, and called on both sides to use the cultural, historical and geographical potentials of the region to facilitate the two countries’ access to high goals.
For his part, the Azeri official also voiced pleasure in the two sides’ cooperation in the production of cine films in the last two years, and assured his country’s resolve to boost cultural and cinematic cooperation with Iran.
