Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Portugal’s ambassador to Tehran to voiced Iran’s strong protest at a recent statement issued by his country as the current EU presidency in support of anti-Iran terrorists. During the meeting, director of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Human Rights Department protested at the contents of the statement, saying that the elements supported and identified by EU presidency as human rights activities are accused of running espionage operations and collaborating with terrorist groups.
The Portuguese ambassador promised to convey Iran’s protest to EU officials and inform Tehran of the results of his follow-up to the case.
