Chavez to Visit Iran

A001211629.jpgVenezuelan President Hugo Chavez is scheduled to pay a several-hour visit to Tehran following his attendance in the upcoming summit of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia early next week. “Venezuelan president will be with the Iranian nation early next week,” the country’s ambassador to Tehran said during a press conference here on Wednesday.

The envoy pointed out that the visit would be aimed at the further expansion of Iran-Venezuela ties, adding, “During this several-hour-long visit, the agreements already signed by the two countries will be followed up.”

He also mentioned that a number of cabinet ministers would accompany Chavez during the trip.
