Mehrabian Elected as Industries Minister

174 Members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly gave vote of confidence to the President’s nominee and elected Ali Akbar Mehrabian as Industries and Mines Minister. Out of the 241 representatives present at the time of voting, a number of 174 MPs voted for, 49 against and 18 abstained and thus, Mehrabian was elected as Minister of Industries and Mines.

Mehrabian served as caretaker of the oil ministry for several months before being elected.
