Tokyo Opens Japan-Iran Art Exhibition

A014269429.jpgGreat interest has been generated by a painting and handicrafts exhibition jointly sponsored by Iran and Japan now being held in Tokyo. About 50 selected works by Iranian artists Mohammad Khazaei and 235 Japanese artists are on display in the week-long fair held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.

The exhibition also provides a glimpse of other Iranian handicrafts including carpets, inlaid works and tablecloths.

Khazaei expressed hope that such exhibitions will help boost cultural exchange between Iran and Japan.

This is the second time a joint Tehran-Tokyo exhibition is being held in Japan; the previous one was held 5 years ago.
