Quake Hits Western Iran

A03518019.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale jolted the district of Hamil in the vicinity of the city of Eslamabad Gharb in Iran’s western province of Kermanshah on Thursday.

The seismological network of Kermanshah affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 04:40:25 hours local time (01:10:25 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area measuring 46.79 degrees in longitude and 34.02 degrees in latitude.

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
