The letter, which has also been addressed to the heads of the UN Security Council and UN General Assembly, reminded that the original reference of Iran’s nuclear case from the International Atomic Energy Agency to the Security Council ran counter to the contents of the IAEA’s articles of association, particularly paragraph three of Article 12.

Mottaki further called on the Security Council to deal with its own general and basic tasks and responsibilities and put an end to its illegal verification of Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities.
