Ukraine’s Tymoshenko presented as candidate for PM

A03586672.jpgKIEV (Reuters) – Ukraine’s parliamentary speaker said on Thursday he had presented Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the pro-Western “orange” coalition, as candidate for prime minister.

Speaker Aresniy Yatsenyuk, who took office on Tuesday, made the announcement during the first session of parliament he chaired. Tymoshenko is an ally of President Viktor Yushchenko, who has 15 days to confirm or reject her candidature.
