TEHRAN (FNA) Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said that Iran would humiliate any possible attacker over its nuclear program.
“This peace-loving nation would humiliate any aggressor, regardless of its size and level so that it won’t even think of aggression again,” Ayatollah Khamenei said during a visit to the central city of Yazd.
The United States has not ruled out military action against Iran over its nuclear program, although reports by 16 US intelligence agencies acknowledged the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities.
Tehran insists that the program is aimed solely at generating energy for a growing population and an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report published last year also endorsed Iran’s claims.
“No one can trace the slightest sign of warmongering tendencies in this nation and its elected management,” the Leader said during a visit to the city’s armed forces.
He said, “The pride inspiring Jihadi conduct of our armed forces throughout the eight years of our sacred defense is a valuable capital for our great nation.”
“The Iranian nation, thanks to maintaining their might and the needed level of readiness, would keep on moving onward towards advancement in various fields, amid security and well being,” the Leader added.
On Thursday, Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran saw “no benefit” in resuming ties with the United States at the moment and vowed that the Islamic republic would not halt nuclear progress as demanded by the West.
