Kosovo PM says independence “few weeks” away

PRISTINA, Serbia – Kosovo will declare independence from Serbia within weeks, the breakaway province’s new Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said on Wednesday after parliament endorsed his coalition government.

“I assure you that within a few weeks we will declare independence,” the former guerrilla fighter told reporters.
