Kavkaz-Center has asked the head of the Informational-Analytical Service of the Caucasus Emirate, Movladi Udugov, to comment on the recent deterioration of relations between Georgia and Russia, their mutual accusations of preparations for military aggression, reports in Russian media about the so called veterans of Georgian-Abkhazian war, members of the so called Confederation of Caucasian Nations, that are “ready to come to help Abkhazia” against Georgia.
Two months ago the Amir of the Caucasus Emirate Dokka Umarov ordered creation of a special monitoring group that has a task of monitoring the situation around Georgian-Russian relations, because those events are taking place directly at the borders of the Caucasus Emirate, and are directly affecting our interests.
The group has informational and operational departments. The monitoring group obtains and processes quite massive amount of data, related to policy, as well as intelligence.
The group’s operational department is operating in the territory of the Caucasus Emirate and is monitoring military activity of Russian occupation troops, their movement routes, especially near the border with Georgia, transfer of troops and equipment, visits to the region by high-ranking military officials, activity of intelligence services, including the military intelligence of the Russian Defense Ministry. The group also processes intelligence information received from agents in South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
The situation around Georgia was discussed at the latest Shura council of the South-Western Front, that took place in the beginning of this month. The military leadership of the Caucasus Emirate has taken several decisions regarding this issue, which are not disclosed.
I have to say that for the time being Tbilisi has not appealed to us with any requests or offers. At the time being Georgian authorities have not asked us to share our intelligence information and have not asked us about military assistance in case of a real Russian aggression.
The so called Congress of Caucasian Nations that is threatening to come forward against Georgia does not exist. All this informational noise with “volunteers” is just a sound effect of a propaganda assault by Moscow against Tbilisi, and a blackmail attempt.
I want to note that mountainous territory of the Caucasus Emirate, from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea, is under Mujahideen control, and is a zone where the Armed Forces of the Caucasus Emirate are active.
