Iran Slams US Operations in Iraq

A03825921.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s Ambassador to Baghdad Hassan Kazemi Qomi strongly slammed the ongoing US military assaults in Iraq as highly unacceptable.

Tehran firmly backs Nouri al-Maliki’s government and supports Iraqi security and army forces on their efforts to restore peace, security and sovereignty to the country, Kazemi Qomi told al-Arabiyah TV network.

The Iranian diplomat slammed US military activities and its punitive measures in the calm areas of Iraq, saying that targeting and pounding of such places is extremely unacceptable.

The US occupying forces have launched military offensives against the Iraqi civilians since March 25, claiming the lives of over 1,000 civilians, including women and children.
