Tehran ready to answer 5+1 questions: MP

TEHRAN, Aug. 10 (ISNA)-Iran in its letter to the EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana has said it is ready to give an appropriate response to 5+1 countries’ offer as soon as possible.

The remarks were made by Iran’s parliament national security and foreign policy commission rapporteur Kazem Jalali as saying Iran has also called for the group to remove ambiguities for Iran.

The letter written by Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili to Solana also says Tehran is waiting to receive a reply to remove ambiguities.

“Iran constructively examined views discussed in Geneva to make a collective agreement for cooperation, remove concerns and obtain acceptable outcome,” Jalili said.

Also according to the Iranian top nuclear negotiator the second phase of the talks can be started soon if the other side is willing to do so.

Jalali also said Iran is not seeking to waste time over the nuclear issue but says the two sides should best use time and start talks in a fruitful way.

Also regarding the so-called deadline determined for Iran to end nuclear exercise, the Iranian official said the deadline was not set in Geneva talks but it was declared after talks by media.

The US has already warned that Iran has a two-week deadline to freeze nuclear activities or face further international sanctions.

Jalali also advised the countries to discuss other beneficial approaches rather than offering suspension of nuclear activities not hailed by any one in Iran.
