Mottaki says extremism the aftermath of U.S. measures

TEHRAN, (ISNA)-Extremism is the aftermath of the United States measures, maintained foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki meeting with state-run committee of Azerbaijan’s Islamic foundations.

“Today extremism in Afghanistan, Pakistan and other countries of this region is an unsolvable problem for its creator,” Iran’s foreign minister said and added that this problem is the aftermath of the U.S. measures in the region.

He also called the common interests and commonalities in culture and religion of the two neighbors an “opportunity that could boost friendships.”

Good-neighborliness is the principle of Iran’s policy, he said while emphasizing that Tehran is ready to aid settling Azerbaijan and Armenia conflict.

The Azeri official on his part said that Baku favors promotion of ties with Iran in different aspects.
