Iranian President Reiterates Cooperation between Gov’t, Parliament

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed that cooperation between the parliament and government is a must for complete implementation of his proposed economic reforms plan.

The president made the remarks in a meeting with members of a special committee from the parliament in charge of the implementation of his proposed economic reforms plan.

The plan introduced by President Ahmadinejad proposes payment of subsidies directly to the people.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Ahmadinejad and Finance Minister Hossein Samsami briefed the MPs on the plan as well as the mechanism of parliament-government cooperation for complete implementation of the project.

Noting that all parties had consensus about the project, the president called on the parliament to have full supervision over its implementation.

He stressed that the project aimed to offer more support for poorer strata of society.
