TEHRAN, (ISNA)-Iran will make any effort to restore security to Caucus, said Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili as meeting Armenian energy minister Armen Movsisyan.
He also declared Iran following a strategic approach towards regional countries particularly Armenia will best try to resolve Armenians’ challenges.
Movsisyan for his part delivered a report on the latest developments in Caucus and appreciated Iran’s support for his country in hard days.
He has also met Iran’s foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki and discussed bilateral cooperation and Caucus issue.
The current conflict in the breakaway Georgian region of south Ossetia started last week when Georgia began military action against South Ossetia, killing 10 Russian peacekeepers to take control of the Russian-backed region.
The Russian army quickly overwhelmed the forces of its small US-backed neighbor and Moscow’s troops stepped into Georgia.
The Georgian conflict has had serious international consequences.
