TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s Deputy Minister of Roads and Transportation announced 4.5 million tons of goods are annually transported through the country.
Some 253,000 vehicles carry the transited goods to, or from, the country’s border terminals, press tv quoted Mohammed Bokharaei as saying at an inauguration ceremony of a new hall at Bazargan border terminal.
Currently there are 24 active border terminals in Iran, and the transportation industry enjoys a relative boom. On average, the transport of goods and passengers has increased by 20% every year.
Approximately 1,560 vehicles and 17,600 passengers pass through Iran’s border terminals on a daily basis, Bokharaei concluded.
