Iran to Extract 10 tons of Gold in 6 Months

Mohammad Massoud Sameinejad said the Islamic Republic is currently extracting gold ore from 15 mines and another gold mine unit will become operational in Mashhad soon.

All phases of extraction are carried out with the use of Iranian technology, he added.

The private sector cooperates with the public sector in the extraction of gold ore. Based upon need evaluation, the extracted gold is supplied to the domestic or international markets.

Sameinejad rejected the idea that domestically refined gold might not be of standard purity or would be of low quality.
