Iran, Germany Underline Boosting Parliamentary Ties

A00219805.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Iran`s Ambassador to Germany Mohammad Mehdi Akhoundzadeh Friday called for a deepening of bilateral legislative relations during his farewell talks with the head of the German-Iranian Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rolf Muetzenich.

Referring to the long history of Iranian-German ties, Akhoundzadeh urged further promotion of bilateral relations in all spheres.

The Iranian diplomat’s wish for closer ties was echoed by Muetzenich who pointed to the growing number of visits by Iranian as well as German lawmakers over the past two years.

The Social Democratic MP was quoted by IRNA as saying that the parliamentary exchanges underscored also Iran’s regional role and significance in promoting peace and stability.

Muetzenich called also for boosting parliamentary ties in all areas.

Akhoundzadeh who is to return soon to Iran following the end of his diplomatic mission in Germany, will be reportedly replaced by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali-Reza Sheikh Attar.
