Majidi’s Children of Heaven to Go to US

A00461183.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Renowned Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s Children of Heaven is slated to be screened at the first annual Bridal Veil Film Festival.

Majidi’s 1997 film, which was nominated for the 1998 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, recounts the story of a brother and sister and their adventures over a lost pair of shoes.

Children of Heaven has received numerous international awards including the 1997 Best Festival Film and Audience Best Film awards of the 21st Montreal Festival for World Films.

Majidi’s 89-minute production will be screened along with works by celebrated international filmmakers such as Roberto Benigni, Stanley Kubrick, Wim Wenders and Akira Kurosawa, press tv reported.

The Bridal Veil Film Festival, to be held over three weekends from Sep. 12 to 28, will screen 11 films near the base of Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon, Utah.
