Iranian Envoy Calls for Stronger Muslim Unity

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mashallah Shakeri urged Islamic nations to enhance unity, saying that Tehran and Pakistan play a pivotal role in strengthening solidarity among Muslims.

The envoy made the remarks as a chief guest on the occasion of an international Mehfil-e-Qirat (a Holy Qoran reciting gathering) at Allama Iqbal Open University in Islamabad.

In his speech, the diplomat underlined the need for concerted efforts to forge unity among the Muslim Ummah (nation), adding that Iran and Pakistan were playing vital role in this regard.

He further pointed to the two countries’ brotherly relations and excellent history, and called for the further consolidation of bilateral ties and mutual cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad.
