TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization Gholam Reza Aqazadeh is to leave Tehran for Vienna Sunday night to attend the 52nd annual meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Assembly.
Aqazadeh will address the IAEA meeting on Monday about the country’s nuclear activities.
Aqazadeh is likely to talk about the technical aspects of his country’s nuclear program and address the issue of the studies western powers allege Tehran has conducted for nuclear weaponization.
Aqazadeh is also slated to confer with IAEA Chief Mohamed ElBaradei on continued cooperation between the two sides in a meeting on the sidelines of the IAEA General Assembly session.
Aqazadeh is also to meet with his Russian counterpart on commissioning of Bushehr nuclear power plant.
The 52nd session of IAEA General Assembly is to kick off on September 29 and continued till October 4th with participation of 144 representatives from IAEA member states in Vienna.
IAEA members will be given an opportunity to discuss various issues in the field.
The meeting is to study membership of new members at IAEA Board of Governors as well as replacement of Pakistan whose membership in the board has expired.
Iran and Syria have offered their proposals to be accepted as new members in IAEA Board of Governors.
