Iran to Hold Humanitarian Film Festival

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran is slated to hold the first ASA International Humanitarian Film Festival in an attempt to promote human dignity in the world.

The event will screen feature-length, documentary and animation films with the themes of friendship, civilization and spirituality.

The festival’s White Club section will hold panel discussions, exhibit humanitarian photos and screen feature-length films by renowned international filmmakers, press tv reported.

Representatives of international peacekeeping organizations will be able to present their humanitarian programs at the White Club.

Sponsored by Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Union for Short Filmmakers of Islamic Countries (USFIC), the festival will be held from Dec. 22 to 26, 2008.
