TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian reformist cleric Mehdi Karroubi is to visit and consult with sources of emulation concerning his presidential candidacy.
The Secretary General of the National Confidence Party will visit senior clerics in Qom on Thursday, October 9 to discuss various issues including the tenth presidential elections.
The two-time former parliament speaker, still undecided about his candidacy, has stated that he would announce his final decision about running in the next presidential election by October 21, press tv reported.
Days ago the reformist cleric held a meeting with former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami during which both figures reiterated the necessity of the various reformist groups bringing their ideas closer together.
The National Confidence Party has officially nominated Karroubi as its candidate for the country’s next presidential race.
He stood as a candidate in Iran’s 9th presidential elections in 2005.
