TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad underlined here on Friday that expansion of infrastructure bases is a top requirement and priority for Iran’s development and prosperity.
Addressing the official opening ceremony of Mashhad’s Combined Cycle Power Plant, the president added, “In order to meet the development demands in Iran we are in need of electricity, energy, and the like, whose means are being constructed by the mighty hands of our country’s technicians.”
He said that construction work over the power plants to produce 16,000 more mega watts of electricity has been started during the course of the past three years, adding, “I feel very proud to announce that 12,000 mega watts of electricity have been added to the country’s nationwide network during the said period.”
Pointing out that we are today witnesses to rapid increase in investment, production, and people’s living standards, the president added, “Among proofs for these claims there is the seven thousand billion rials (over US $700mn) investment in Khorassan Razavi Province’s industries and energy sectors, which are being put to use today.”
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency, he added, that meanwhile, ever since the celebrations marking the victory of the Islamic Revolution last winter up to now some 20,000 billion rials (over US $200mn) have been invested in that province’s various infrastructure fields, in construction of a noticeable part of which high technological expertise of Iranian experts has been employed.
Ahmadinejad said high technological expertise and scientific capabilities of our nation is a thorn in the eyes of our enemies, adding, “Reconstruction of Islamic Iran is a divine mission today.” He reiterated, “In an era when materialist mentality and acts have seriously harmed mankind’s culture and thoughts and the major part of aggressions and injustice in the history of mankind has been committed in that era, hearts and minds of nations that are enthusiasts of prestige, prosperity, justice, well being, and true sense of peace and security in the world get inclined towards Iran rapidly.”
Iran’s president said, “Today is the day when the loud call of materialistic thoughts and their standard bearers is heard around the globe, and simultaneously, the Iranian nation is embracing the peaks of advancement and blossoming, since the Islamic Revolution is the only culture, thought, and ideal that is inclusive of respect, prestige, and grandeur for the mankind, and exaltation of the human society, based on a strong mentality.”
Addressing the Iranian nation, he added, “Our responsibility is doubled today, since on the one hand we need to propagate the mentality of the Islamic Revolution in the world, and on the other hand, we are commissioned with the task of constructing Iran and presenting it as an exalted model to the mankind.”
He pointed out, “Today the Iranian nation is standing strongly against the superpowers and those who intend to exert their hegemony resorting to military force around the globe.”
Ahmadinejad said, “They have assumed if they would refrain from sharing their scientific wealth and experience with us we would surrender, but once they noticed it did not work that way, they resorted to imposing sanctions to break the backbone of the Iranian nation, which we saw that even the most server sanctions, such as sanctions against our banks, too, faced the brave resistance, and their most severe threats were turned into most beautiful opportunities for us.”
Ahmadinejad added, “What the enemies do against us today is due to their weakness and aimed at defending themselves, since the paper tiger of their might has been set ablaze due to the resistance of the Iranian nation.”
He reiterated, “Today their administration, namely the UN Security Council, that has reigned over the world for over 60 years, has faced a cent percent defeat due to adopting fully unjust decisions against our nation.”
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran concluded his remarks arguing, “The economic pillars of the usurper powers of the world are on the verge of collapsing today, and this is coming true of God’s promise that the pillars of powers that are based on oppression and despotism would for sure collapse.”
