NYC Exhibiting Iranian Calligraphy

A02688053.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- New York is displaying examples of Persian calligraphy in the ‘Traces of the Calligrapher’ and ‘Writing the Word of God’ exhibitions.

The two exhibitions, which are held at New York’s Asia Society, features some 160 examples of Islamic calligraphy, such as practice exercises, manuscripts, and folios from the Qur’an, along with the tools used to create these masterful works.

The exhibition is slated to close on Feb 8, 2008, press tv reported.

Founded in 1956, Asia Society is a well-known global organization which aims to promote understanding among the United States and different Asian countries and enhance dialogue, encourage creative expression, and generate new ideas.
